Around the Hotel
Boutique Hotel Rudolfo is located on Virmenska (Armenian Street) in the historic heart of Lviv, named for Prince Leo, the son of the 13th century Galician King Danylo. Leo means lion—and so you will see many lion statues throughout this city
Turning left out of the hotel and walking a block, you will arrive at Svoboda (Freedom) Avenue with a view of the majestic Lviv Opera House. Crossing Svoboda, a few blocks further on you will reach the winding paths of Ivan Franko Park.
Turning right out of the hotel and making the next left, you will reach the historic Armenian Cathedral with its highly-treasured and lifelike murals. Back on Virmenska, just behind the cathedral is a hidden courtyard, an oasis of peace out of a movie-set, surrounded by a few of Lviv’s top dining venues.

At the end of Virmenska, just two blocks from the hotel, you will find a lively collection of restaurants and bars including a jazz and art club. Among those cafés is the Virmenska coffeehouse—a famed place for philosophers and dissidents. Lviv is known for its coffee and coffeehouses ever since a Western Ukrainian introduced the Turkish tradition of coffee to Europe.
One block south of the hotel you will find the grand scene: Lviv’s Rynok (market) Square and the stately, whimsical tower of the city hall. Here you can catch a trolleybus, enjoy live music and dancing on the cobblestones, purchase souvenirs or necessities, and enjoy the many cafés, bars, and restaurants.
In the winter, central Lviv becomes a wonderland of mirthful snowy lanes and cozy coffeehouses. In spring, summer, and autumn, Lviv’s historic streets brim with sidewalk cafés, from which you can take in the sights and sounds of the city.
