Safety & Security

Lviv is one of the safest cities in Ukraine, and life here goes on much as usual. Still, we know that guests travelling to Ukraine want clear answers before they arrive. Here is exactly what Rudolfo Hotel has in place, and what happens if an air-raid alert is issued during your stay.

Shelter in the building

Our shelter is inside the hotel, so you never have to go out onto the street. It offers enough space for all of our guests at the same time.

  • Food and drinking water are available in the shelter
  • Wi-Fi works down there, so you can stay online and let your family know you are safe
  • An independent power supply keeps light and internet running
  • Our staff is present and will help you

The way to the shelter is signposted and is shown to you at check-in. If you would like to see it before you settle in, just ask at the front desk — we are happy to walk you down.

Power supply

The hotel has its own backup generator. When mains power fails, the system switches over automatically and supplies the entire hotel — for several days at a time. Lighting, heating and cooling, water supply, the lift, Wi-Fi and the front desk keep working.

In practice this means a power cut in the city does not change your stay. Your room stays lit and warm, your devices stay charged, and your connection stays up.

If an air-raid alert is issued

  1. You will hear the city sirens, and the alert also reaches your phone through the official Air Alert app.
  2. Take your phone, documents and a jacket, and go to the shelter. Please use the stairs.
  3. Our staff will be there and will tell you when the all-clear has been given.

Alerts often end after a short time. You are welcome to stay in the shelter for as long as you feel comfortable.

Emergency numbers in Ukraine

  • 101 — fire and rescue service
  • 102 — police
  • 103 — ambulance
  • 112 — single European emergency number
  • +380 (32) 23-68-000 — our front desk, staffed 24 hours a day

In your room

  • Lock your door and use the additional latch whenever you are in your room.
  • Do not open the door without checking who is outside. If someone says they are hotel staff, call the front desk and we will confirm it.
  • Keep valuables and documents in the safe — in your room or at the front desk.
  • Do not leave your key card where it can be picked up.
  • If anything seems out of place, tell the front desk at once.

Fire

The building is fitted with smoke alarms and fire extinguishers. In case of fire, leave by the stairs — never use the lift — and notify the front desk or call 101.

If anything here is still unclear, write to us at info@rudolfo.ua or call the front desk. We would rather answer one more question than have you arrive uncertain.
